New in sellerboard: Walmart Inventory Planner

Posted on Categories Changelog, Walmart

Walmart sellers can now plan inventory directly inside sellerboard. The new Walmart Inventory Planner gives you full control over SF and WFS stock, demand forecasting, and reorder timing — in one structured workflow.

No more reactive restocking. Now you can plan proactively.

🛒 Walmart: Inventory Planner

The new Planner provides an item-level inventory planning view built specifically for Walmart sellers.

It connects real sales velocity with your current inventory position — including available, reserved, sent-to-WFS, and ordered quantities — to determine how long your stock will last and when you need to act.

Why it matters

Inventory planning is directly tied to:

  • Ranking stability
  • Cash flow management
  • Inventory turns
  • Capital allocation
  • Profit consistency

Stock out → you lose ranking and momentum.
Overstock → you lock capital and reduce ROI.

The Planner helps you stay in the optimal zone between both extremes.

What you can decide with it

  • When your next purchase order is required
  • How many units you should reorder
  • How to split stock between WFS and SF
  • Whether your current stock value aligns with expected profit
  • How efficiently your capital is performing (30-day ROI)

How it works

1️⃣ The system calculates your sales velocity (units/day).
2️⃣ It compares that against available and reserved inventory to determine days of stock left.
3️⃣ Based on your editable lead time, it calculates days until next order.
4️⃣ It recommends a reorder quantity to maintain healthy stock coverage.
5️⃣ It incorporates units already sent to WFS and ordered quantities to give a full forward-looking inventory picture.

At the same time, it evaluates:

  • Stock value (capital tied in inventory)
  • Potential profit
  • ROI (last 30 days)

This connects inventory decisions directly to financial performance.
